Personal Connections and Adult World Connections:
1. Which project did you have the most personal connection with this year? Why? My video project ended up being the project that I most connected to because I could be creative with it and could personalize the outcome.
2. What have you learned (skill, lesson, or knowledge) this year that will be most helpful for you in the future? The most helpful skill I have developed this year is my time management which will greatly assist me in the future.
3. What project or projects have you done this year that have inspired you to want to learn more? Explain how you were inspired. The mask project inspired me and drove me to learn more about socialization and it’s effect on society.
4. How has your attitude toward learning changed this year?
My attitude towards school has become higher and higher as I have become happier with my education and eagerness to learn more.
5. What connections have you made this year between what you have learned in your classes and your own personal experiences outside of school? After the socialization project I could not help but make endless connections to the world outside of school.
6. How have your learning and experiences at AHS this year changed the way you see the world? All of my learning experiences at AHS especially the North Korea and Mask projects have changed the way that I see the world.
7. What work from this year would you like to look back on and remember when you are a graduating senior? The mask project would be the work that I would like to look back on a a senior
1. What is the most important change that you have made as a learner this year?
The most important change I have made this year is my attitude towards school. Instead of looking at my education as a must, I look at it like a privilege and an opportunity to expand my knowledge.
2. How have you taken an active role in your education this year?
This year I have taken an active role and learned to advocate to my teachers.
3. What piece of work that you’ve done this year are you proudest of? Why?
I am most proud of my mask project, because of the extensive refinements and additions I was able to add to it.
4. If you could go back and refine one piece of work this year, what piece of work would you refine and how would you refine it?
I would go back and refine my money manifesto. I would refine it to include an NPA introduction.
5. If you were the teacher, what comments would your teacher make about your work habits?
I would say that when I am in flow I am able to get work done very efficiently, but when I get distracted I can hinder the classes progression.
6. What might you want next year’s teacher to know about your work habits?
I would want them to know that I am dedicated to advocate and work with them to complete any project.
7. What is the most difficult thing you have done this year? Why was it difficult, and how did you deal with that difficulty?
The most difficult thing I have done this year is the wave project. I had trouble dealing with the difficulty of this project because I had not tried to manage my time during this project.
8. How has group collaboration helped you as a student?
Group collaboration helped me learn how to get a new perspective on work which helped me grow as a student .
1. What would you say to an incoming 9th grader about how to succeed in project based learning?
I would say to give it your all regardless of your confidence or experience hard work will pay off.
2. How have any of the habits of heart and mind helped you be successful as a student or person?
I feel that the habits of heart and mind did not help me as much as perseverance and confidence have. coming to a new school these are the two skills I new and have helped me grow as a person and student.
3. How has a relationship with a faculty member helped you be more successful in school this year?
My relationship with Brian has helped me see science in a different perspective which has made me more successful this year.
4. Project based learning is a different model than traditional models of education. Explain how Project based learning has influenced your learning and your production of work.
PBL has made me more confident in myself and my ability to produce beautiful work.
