My Teacher Creature Project:
Why I did What I did:
For my teacher Creature project I was tasked with combining a plethora of HD pictures to create one final Jpeg featuring one of our teachers. In this paragraph I will explain the thought that went into creating this photo. To start off, the main focus of the creation is my physics teacher with his head pinned to a picture of a lumberjack swinging at a tree. This is made to represent the insane amounts of paper used by my physics teacher on a regular basis. The smoke and burnt forest background is meant to poke fun at his paper consumption and what it could lead to. The clocks emerging from the blackened forest are there to give his fear of time a whole new meaning. In the far background is an elephant and a tellitubie this originated from completely random thought. In conclusion this is the reasoning behind my teacher creature project.
Written Reflection:
This Photoshop project took many weeks of explaining and working through difficult Photoshop tools. To start off I looked for a teacher that I could turn into a creature and create a magazine quality Photoshop creation. I decided that Brian, the new physics teacher, would be a great lumberjack, I started my project by spending two days searching the internet for quality HD photo's to create the final composition. After finding the photos shown above I decided it was time to start on my final composition. For this project I decided that I wanted to download a trial for Photoshop this way I could work on my project over the long weekend in the middle of out project work time. This is when I encountered the hardest part of this assignment which was blending the lumberjacks body with the background and Brian's head this took almost two weeks of changing Brian's head and using different pictures depicting different angles. In the end I got the perfect blend of saturation and scaling the skin tone with the original lumberjack photo. My favorite part of this project was adding all of the clocks and the elephant to the picture, this was my favorite part because it was fun and silly; a breath of fresh air after the difficulties of getting the Lumberjack to match the background. This was the final piece of my Photoshop picture and I have very happy with my final project. In the end this is my reflection on the teacher creature project.
